Fall 2015 Update

Hello and welcome back! We are still alive and kicking here at ACU, and we are still taking submissions. We currently have 50+ clubs in our directory. If you haven’t added your club to our database, please do so as soon as possible! Now would also be a great time to update your club listing information! Update your info here!

Some things have been going on behind the scenes here at ACU, and you have probably noticed more posts to our Facebook page. Our in-the-know staff picks stories that they feel are of interest to you and anime clubs around the world. We hope you are enjoying these posts, however, we feel that we are not reaching people and we have received very little likes and shares, and we are not reaching people on social media alone. The Facebook Page isn’t all that good for meaningful conversations, and our mailing list(Yahoo Group) hasn’t seen any activity in months. For this reason, we have decided to open up a forum on the website, so that clubs from all over the world can better connect, off of social media. We promise to keep this forum as relevant as we can, minus all the drama and harassment sometimes found in other online communities. You can find the discussion forum here, and there will now be a link at the top of the page. Please register for the forum, and start the conversation!

This October, many films have made their premier in US theaters, and some are still playing. The live action Attack on Titan films, BORUTO: Naruto the Movie, and The Laws of the Universe, Part 0.

These films are great opportunities for your club to have an group outing, and perhaps grab a bit to eat together before or after. We at ACU feel it’s important to support anime films that come to theaters. It tells the industry we are interested in them, and increases the likelihood of more coming to local theaters. So grab you club members (preferably by the arm) and take in a movie.

BORUTO: NARUTO THE MOVIE is having an exclusive two day event on December 13 & 14, so check here for theaters and showtimes!

Fall is also the time when new anime starts airing. The Fall 2015 anime season started the beginning of October. It’s a good idea to let your club know about new anime, perhaps by showing a few episodes of new fall anime at your next meeting.

Thankfully we have resources such as AnimeCalendar, Anime News Network(upcoming and DVD releases), Neregate and AniChart to keep us looking like an anime aficionado.

Also, don’t forget about your streaming resources either; Crunchyroll, Funimation, Viz, Aniplex and Daisuki.

So, thanks for reading, and we will see you in the forum!
